Under the alias Great Dynamo Düsseldorf based Hauke Schmidt explores the threshold regions of noise and harmony, of loop and rhythm, of song and sound collage. His materials include field recordings, chants and the tones of electronic and acoustic instruments. He filters, loops and recomposes them to form oddly concise figures sometimes resembling song-like textures.
